A Roman ceramic coarse ware vessel rim sherd of an unidentified white ware and probably dating to c. AD 44-410. The sherd is of an oxidised white/buff grainy fabric containing an abundant sand temper, containgin abundant ferrous inclusions, as well as sub-rounded quartz or greatly varying sizes, <2.6mm. The form of the vessel is unclear, and the sherd appears to have a dropped flange, potentially from a bowl. In contrast to the rest of the sherd the tip of this flange is reduced to a pale grey. Weight: 17.22g.
