A core rejuvenation flake that has been re-utilized as scraper tool, made from a tertiary sub-triangular flake of Portland chert. The flake would have been removed from the original platform of the core in order to create a new platform. The chert is opaque and characteristically mid to dark grey in colour with a mid-gloss patina and is mostly covered in a thin speckled off-white re-cortification, except for areas of retouch carried out at a later date. The object has a triangular cross section with the dorsal face showing large broad flake removal scars with strong ripples. The distal end shows evidence of re-use as a scraper by the removal of re-cortification with scaled, abrupt retouch extending down the left side margin where the retouch becomes more crude and hackly. The ventral face is curved with a prominent bulb of percussion and bulbar scar, some post depositional damage is visible along the right side margin.

Date: Late Neolithic to Early Bronze Age - 3300 to 1600 BC.

Dimensions: 59.6mm x 39.7mm x 24mm.

Weight: 45.2g.

Evidence of reuse: Retouch to the distal end and left side margin which has removed the re-cortification
