Pewter spoon bowl dating from to the 16th century AD. The rest of the spoon is missing. The bowl is sub oval shaped with a rounded tip edge. The bowl is concave is profile. At the attachment end there is a sub triangular hole where the stem would have attached. Next to this is a stamp with the letters RM, surrounded by a circular border of pellets. According to the Pewter Society this pewterer was active from 1550 to 1570AD (pers comm). Similar spoons can be seen in Egan 2005, page 110. The length is 70mm, the width is 55mm and the weight 33.93g.
