An incomplete copper alloy object, possibly a flat tanged chisel of Bronze Age date. It is trapezoidal in shape with straight sides and expanding slightly towards one end. This expanded end it outwardly rounded and appears to be bevelled, suggesting that it is a blade. The other end is irregularly rounded, but appears to be a break. The object is rectangular in cross-section and of fairly even thickness along its length. The surface of the metal is heavily pitted with corrosion and the edges are damaged. Its bright green patina also suggests a prehistoric date.

See Pendleton (1999, fig.67, no.291) for a very similar example, also with simple rectangular cross section, which was found at West Row Fen, Suffolk. See also PAS record: SF-498094, for a similar example also recorded from Suffolk.

Length: 74.27mm, width at wider end: 23.43mm, width at narrow end: 13.00mm, thickness: 3.21mm, weight: 23.17g
