A complete modern white metal open topped thimble.

This object is sub conical in shape with an open top, it has been flattened causing two splits in the top edge.

It has been produced by deep drawingand is machine knurled. It has a 2.75mm plain band and a turned over rim at the base. This would suggest a post 1800 date. (E.F. Holmes data sheet 9)

Weight 3.8g, length 22.81mm, width 20.59mm reducing to 16.92mm at the apex, thickness 0.96mm
