A fragment of a copper alloy Brooch of Roman date (AD 75-150). The object is the head of a Trumpet brooch. The head flares outwards in an ovate form and tapers in to an integral body, only a small spur of which is retained. The back of the object is concave with an integral loop with a circular perforation. From the upper aspect of the loop projects a small spur. The body, foot, spring, pin and catchplate are all missing due to old an abraded break.
The metal is a mid-green in colour with a pitted patina.
