A complete cast lead alloy probable palm guard from the Post-Medieval period dating to c.AD 1500-1800.

Description: The object is tear drop in shape. It is D-shaped in cross-section and is marked on both surfaces. It is a mottled dark-brown colour on both sides.

Dimensions: Length 43.42mm, width 43.65mm, thickness 15.66mm and weight 123.25g.

Discussion: Palm guards were for use by a leather worker to protect the palm whilst stitching and a large number have been reported tot he PAS see similar: KENT-6E794E and LVPL-610AAC
