A fragment of a ceramic vessel of probable medieval date, c.AD 1200 - 1500. Rim/body sherd. The fabric has a reduced grey core and an oxidised orange/red outer surface. Frequent quartzite and possible mica inclusions. A raised ridge is present to the outer surface of the fragment and the remains of a second is also present to one edge, possibly a rim, possibly a second decorative element.
The sherd is 38mm long, 30.2mm wide, 11.8mm thick and weighs 10.7g
