An incomplete cast copper-alloy harness pendant suspension mount or pendant hanger dating to the Medieval period, c. 1200-1400. The original complete form of the hanger is uncertain due to the fact that only one arm of the object survives intact, though this would originally have taken either a bar-shaped or cruciform appearance, with a double-lugged suspension mechanism projecting from the bottom of the mount. The surviving arm is truncated at one end in an old break, being broadly rectangular in plan and 'D' shaped in section, with a moulded transverse groove at the opposing end that separates the main body of the arm from the terminal. The terminal itself demonstrates a circular rivet hole, directly in front of which is an elongated sub-oval terminal knop. Preserved in fair condition with an even brownish patina, it survives to a length of 38.57mm long, 8.01mm wide at its midpoint, and 2.98mm thick at its midpoint. It weighs 4.11g.
For similar suspension mounts recorded on the PAS database, refer to records GLO-586659 and SF-B7F806- which illustrate the two potential complete forms of this object.
