Clay tobacco pipe of c1660-1680. Broseley style Type 2A bowl (Higgins 1987) with relief stamped maker's mark reading DB. The bowl is very battered and abraded from having been in the plough soil, so it is not possible to say if had been burnished originally, although it is mostly likely it would have been. Traces of milling survive around the rim. The stem bore measures 8/64" inch.
