A sherd of a glazed medieval vessel. The sherd has a grey inner core with reddish margins and grey surfaces. It is fairly thin walled. The fabric is hard and coarse and is tempered with plentiful fine quartz sand (<0.5mm) and occasional chalky fragments (<1mm). The outer surface is covered with a thick, dark brown-green glaze.
