Incomplete Late Saxon copper alloy lozengiform openwork brooch of Kershaw's (2013) Type II dating to the period c. AD 900 - 1000. The central rosette is reduced to a circular depression. Each of the four intersecting arms exhibits paired ridges and terminates in an outwards facing Borre-style animal head. On the reverse is a rectangular single perforated pin-lug of Anglo-Saxon form positioned in-line with the brooch edge and a hooked catchplate of Scandinavian form.
