A post-medieval copper alloy hooked clasp, probably dating to c. AD 1600-1700. The hook section of a two-part hooked clasp. The object has an oval plate with a flat back. From one side expands the stub of the flat, rectangular hook There are three integral perforated lugs, two flanking the remnant of the hook and one at the opposite end. The front of the plate is cast in low relief with a depiction of the Commonwealth arms. The rear is flat and undecorated.

This type of fastener is generally dated to the 17th century and Read (ibid) notes the association with Civil War battle sites. See Robinson (1999, 286; fig. 1) especially no. 4
