An incomplete cast copper-alloy Late Iron Age one-piece brooch dating to the first century AD. The brooch is a La Tene III Nauheim derivative type of the Late Iron Age or early Roman period, dating from c. AD 25 - c. AD 100. The brooch has a head with an internal chord which passes underneath the incomplete bilateral four-coil spring one of which forms the pin, which is now missing. The majority of the coil is missing presumed lost in antiquity. The brooch body is rectangular in plan and square in section, and has a slightly arched profile similar to many brooches of this type. The body tapers into a narrow undecorated foot. It retains its unperforated catchplate, which is incomplete, the curved outer edge which would have held the pin, is partially missing, only the bottom remains. There is some decoration in the form of short horizontal incised grooves that run from the top of the bow down the right side. Three transverse scores separate the decorated bow from the plain narrow section and foot.

Similar examples are illustrated in Hattatt (2007) nos. 736, 738. Mackreth (2012) also illustrates similar with nos. 3960 and 3985. They date from c. AD 20-70.
