A fragment of a copper alloy object of uncertain date and function. The fragment is curved in profile and is decorated by a band of ropework. Above the ropework is a rim which is sub-triangular in cross section while below is a deep groove. The lower half of the object is undecorated and has a broken edge. The internal face is undecorated but is ridged to the rear of the external groove. The object has a dark green patina.
Due to the fragmentary nature of the object the function and date are unknown however the patina and construction both suggest a medieval to post-medieval date range. A parallel has not currently been found.
