A complete copper-alloy button and loop fastener of Wild Class III (1970). It has an elliptic or teardrop shaped head with two raised concentric rings that are surrounded by a recessed channel at its parameter. The edge of the button has a thick rounded rim with a pointed forward edge. On the undersides is a shallow rounded central indentation, behind which and towards the rim is the shank of the loop, this bends round at a 90 degree angle away from the button element of the artefact, before expanding into a large elliptical loop.
With a teardrop or petal-headed fasteners this is a Wild Class III, dating to the late 1st- 2nd century AD.
