Copper alloy Roman brooch of Colchester derivative, Polden Hill type. Rearward facing lugs on either end of the wings hold the spring support bar, the spring is made from eight curls, the pin is truncated. The front of both wings are decorated with a receded vertical band flanked by a recessed vertical line. There is a loop at the top of the head that holds the external cord of the spring, this then extends down the front of the head forming a crest.
