An incomplete Medieval cast copper-alloy single loop buckle with buckle plate, c. 1200-1400 AD. The remains of the buckle consist of the plate which is sub-rectangular in plan with expanding outer edges. The front edge is recessed. The plate is made of one sheet of rectangular copper alloy folded around the strap bar. There are five rivet holes on the plate to hold it in place, and remains four of rivets. The plate has engraved border. Similar buckles can be seen in cf. Whitehead (2003) p. 23.
The length is 27mm, the width is 15mm and the weight 4.05g.
