A copper alloy plate from a medieval composite strap-end, probably of the type with forked spacer and dating to c.1250-1450. The plate widens from an angled tip c.7.2mm wide to the opposite end (8.9mm wide) which has a 1.6mm diameter central piercing for an attachment rivet, now missing. Two lines of opposed punched triangles flank the edges, the bases of the triangles facing each other. A light brown concretion adheres to both the front and reverse surfaces. The object measures 24.1mm in length, 8.9mm in max.width, 0.5mm in thickness and weighs 0.37g.
