Worn and bent post-medieval copper alloy book clasp, blunt hook at very slight transverse rectangular expansion, bent across mid-point, iron corrosion in both rivet-holes and on reverse of plate, one at hooked end and the other at the damaged triple-notched splayed attachment-end. Length (unbent) 50mm. Width at terminal 15mm. Width at mid-point 9mm. Later 16th-17th century.
