Lead musket ball. Cast ball with a flattened patch of diameter 9mm, either from a ramrod or from its inclusion in a multiple load, with the flat area where this was next to another ball in the gun barrel. Patinated, and with numerous tiny crescentic nicks, the latter possibly from light gnawing by vermin. The mass, at well over an ounce, would suggest this was used with a smoothbore muzzle loading firearm of military specification. Suggested date: Post-Medieval, 1600-1800.

Diameter: 18.3mm, Weight: 34.74gms
