An incomplete flint late Mesolithic to early Neolithic probable adze. It is straight-sided, tapering slightly towards one end, with rounded ends and an irregular plano-convex cross-section. There is invasive, scaled flaking on both faces and a possible attempt at a tranchet flake removal from one face of the cutting edge. There is some damage around the butt end and possibly a small section missing here. The flint is a mid-grey in colour with slight patination and some orange staining in places.
The presence of a potential tranchet flake suggests that this example may be of late Mesolithic date.
