A worn and clipped post-Medieval silver threepence of Elizabeth I (1558-1603), minted at London. Initial marks: ermine/ermine, dated 1573 on coin (North 1991, 135, ref: 1998).

Obverse: ELIZABETH.D G A[NG FR ET] HI REGINA, Crowned bust left with a rose behind the head.

Reverse: POS[VI/DEV] AD/IVTORE/M.MEV. (I have made God my Helper); Square shield on long cross fourchée dividing the inscription with date of 1573 above shield.
