A flint fabricator of uncertain date, mesolithic to Bronze Age date 9000BC-1000BC
Description: The fabricator is irregularly shaped in plan with a wide irregular base and roughly parrel sides tapering towards the much narrower top whcih slightly dog legs to one side. In cross-section the fabricator is triangular. Rtouch on all faces is very crude and inconsistant but clearly defined being short to invasive scaled semi-abrupt. The dog leg appears to be intentional with signifcant hard hammer strikes on the upper dorsal face The bulb of percussion is relatively subtle compared with the retouch and may indicate the use of both soft and hard hammers in its production.
The flint is mottled dark grey through to light brown. There is some light orangey brown iron staining on all faces.
