A middle Saxon copper alloy hooked tag. The tag comprises a U-shaped plate with three circular perforations at the broad end and a hook projecting from the tapering end. The hook curves backwards underneath this projection. The upper face of the plate is decorated with a row of tiny circles (about a dozen) along each the outside edges. The reverse is plain and undecorated.
Length 22mm; Width at the wide end 12mm, tapering to 2mm at the hooked end. Weight 1g.
