A fragment of a copper-alloy vessel of medieval to post-medieval date, c.AD 1100 - 1850. The fragment is part of the rim of a probable cooking vessel and is sub-trapezoidal in plan and rectangular in section, swelling slightly to the rim. All the breaks are old and worn and the fragment appears undecorated.

The metal has a dark green patina and is worn, with slight delamination to the exterior surface. The fragment is 63.9mm long, 48.9mm wide, 4.4mm thick and weighs 34.6g.

While it is not possible to allocate this fragment to a specific type it is likely to be from a large cooking vessel and dates from c. AD 1100 to c. AD 1850 after which the use of cast iron cooking vessels predominates.
