A complete copper-alloy strap or sword belt fitting of Post-Medieval date, c.AD 1500 - 1700. Read's Type 7. The main plate of the fitting is ovate with a convex section. A transverse collar with bulbous knoped terminal projects from one end of the plate through which the remains of an iron rivet can be seen. A transverse ridged and grooved collar is present at the opposite end from which a disc toggle extends. The remains of a second iron rivet remains through the main plate, just above the lower collar.
The metal has a mid-green patina and is worn. The fitting is 48.3mm long, 14.2mm wide, 4.6mm thick and weighs 7.2g.
