The fragment is from a piece of course floor tile from the medieval period. The ceramic appears to be very hard stoneware and is glazed in an orange colour on one side whilst the other side is a brown colour with some white marks. The glaze has a profuse amount of inclusions of varying sizes and colour, however in majority they are a brown colour, with some big black ones. The inclusions on the rest of the tile in contrast are quite sparse.
It weighs 26.9g, and is c. 43mm in length, c. 31mm in width and c. 16mm thick.
