A copper alloy medieval harness pendant (AD c. 1200 - c.1400).
The object is a circular disc with a suspension loop at the top which is turned through 90° to the plane of the pendant. The front of the disc has a raised central design within a circular border, which depicts a forward facing head, probably a lion, surrounded by a mane of hair formed from radiating lines and with two C-shaped ears. At opposite edge of the disc from the suspension loop is circular perforation approximately 2 mm in diameter, slightly smaller at the rear. This pierces the design and was possibly a later addition. The rear is flat and undecorated.
Overall the object measures 31.1 mm long, 22.2 mm wide and 6.8 mm thick. Weight 5.7 g.
