BLADE

Unique ID: WAW-56C694

Object type certainty: Certain
Workflow status: Awaiting validation Find awaiting validation

Mesolithic to Neolithic (c. 7000 to 2350BC) debitage: A blade knapped from flint.

The blade is trapezoidal in section. The dorsal surface has three vertical scars and the ventral surface has traces of conchoidal ripples. The proximal end is missing, but the patina which covers the surface also covers the break. One on lateral edge there is a small portion of damage rather than re-touch revealing a dark grey flint.

It measures 31.88mm long, 14.11mm wide, 3.39mm thick and weighing 2.17g.

The blade probably dates to the Mesolithic to Neolithic periods, c. 7000 to 2350BC.
