Distorted front part of a medieval gilt copper alloy sheet buckle plate broken at the fold, with a pin slot, frame recesses, a transverse row of three rivet holes and contour lines of finely executed interrupted rocker-arm engraving giving the appearance of tiny addorsed triangles. Length c.18mm. Width 36mm. 13th - 14th century.
