Late Saxon to medieval copper alloy stirrup-strap mount of Williams 1997, Class A, Type 10D, with an iron rivet in the trilobed apex loop. The convex front is covered with elaborate decoration in openwork and relief depicts an asymmetrically coiled beast in the Urnes style between a pair of animals which form the sides with their heads next to the lower fixing holes. There is no basal flange. A mount from Milton Keynes is the closest parallel (BH-AFA0EA). Height 64mm. Width 31.5mm. Thickness 7.6mm. Weight 24.96g. Second half 11th century.
