A complete, Roman, struck or hammered, Radiate or Antoninianus copper alloy coin of Victorinus. Obverse: Radiate bust right - full curly beard with hook nose. Inscription: IMP [VICTORINVS PF AVG]. Reverse: Salus holding sceptre and feeding a snake rising from an altar. Inscription: [S]ALVS AVG. No mink mark. Die axis: 6 o'clock. Very worn or fair condition. Slightly irregular, oval flan, silvery green patina but several small patches of matt green/light brown corrosion. This is likely to date to 268-271AD. Ref. Coins of England and the UK, Spink 2017, page 60, Identifying Roman Coins, Richard Reece & Simon James, Seaby 1986 reprint 1994, page 22 & 23 No. 24 & 32, Roman Coins and their values III, David R. Sear, Spink 2005, page 385 No. 11181 and Roman Imperial Coinage 71.C118. The coin is 19.53mm long, 18.37mm wide, 1.85mm thick, diameter 19.53mm and weighs 2.3g.
