Incomplete Roman copper alloy zoomorphic buckle of Hawkes and Dunning's Type IIa dating to the period c. AD 300 - 400. The fragment consists of approximately half of the frame, moulded in the form of one of, orginally two, confronting dolphins. The head forms the outer edge, with gaping jaws. The eye is depicted by a ring-and-dot motif.
