A cast copper alloy catch-piece from a medieval book clasp, of Howsam type A.6.1. The object is broadly rectangular in form with two rivet holes to one edge and a slot to the other. That slotted edge has chamfered corners. The surface appears to be undecorated and has a rough mid-green patina.
