A medieval silver halfpenny probably of Edward III dating to c AD 1335-1343. The coin is worn, clipped and broken. Obverse depicts a crowned bust facing with a tall crown and deep, drooping almond shaped eyes. The reverse depicts a long cross with trefoils in each quarter. Mint of London. Probably North 1102 (North, JJ, 1991, English Hammered Coinage Volume 2, Spink & Son, London, p 46 no 1102).
