A fragment of a copper alloy mid to late Bronze Age (and into the early Iron Age) socketed axe. Only a small section of the socketed end survives survive. This is curved in profile with a raised rounded rim along the outer face of the socket end. The breaks are well worn. Both faces have the remains of a dark brown shiny patina in places, but this has worn away on the raised sections.
