A complete glass bead of uncertain, probably post-medieval, date. It is spherical in shape with a circular hole through the centre and is made from an opaque light blue glass. There are a few cracks in places on the outer surface.
When lacking specific diagnostic features and not from a secure archaeological context glass beads are difficult to date precisely as simple beads like this one were in use across multiple periods. A probable post-medieval date is likely, but an earlier date cannot be ruled out as the bead was found in an area that has produced artefacts of multiple periods.
