A copper alloy Post-Medieval double-looped buckle, probably dating to c. AD 1550-1650. The buckle has two oval loops with a central bar, flanked by two worn mouldings, possibly human faces, and sub-rectangular in cross section. The frame is D-shaped in cross section, with a flat back and convex front, the outer edges expand into a barrel shaped section made up of three transverse collars, there is a further small rounded knop expanding externally from each corner of the frame, and with a potential further collar on the upper and lower arm of each loop.

Dimensions: length 36.1mm; width 24.7mm; thickness 3.3mm; weight 5.55g.

An identical buckle, in a much better condition, can be seen recorded on this database: DOR-59DE6F, as well as several other examples. They are generally dated to c. 1550-1650.
