Incomplete copper alloy inverted T-shaped loop handle from a medieval to post-medieval chafing dish (or perhaps cupboard door, Margeson 1993, 78-9). The top and one side are missing. Many T-shaped examples are known, but the angle at the turn towards the top is normally rounded (e.g. IOW-600408). On this example it is sharp and square. The cross-section is rectangular (cf. NMS-91CC97). There are profuse file marks on most of the surface. Extant width and height 45.3 and 34.7mm. Thickness 5.5mm. 15th - 16th century.
