An incomplete copper alloy dress hook of post-medieval date. The object is in the form of a moulded scallop shell with a curved edge which is beaded and engrailed. There is a rounded knop at the juncture of the plate and the hook. The hook which is rearward facing is broken where it begins to curve. The sub-rectangular attachment loop is missing however the small scallop shell knop at either side remains. The object has a dark green patina and is in good condition.
