~~Copper alloy circular shaped seal matrix. The central motif depicts a bearded, robed figure to the left who has his hands outstretched in prayer and is shown kneeling before the Virgin Mary to the right. Mary is shown seated and dressed in long robes with deep folds; on her head is a wimple that wraps around the side of her head from her chin to the top where it then extends down the back of her head in folds, on the top of her head is a crown with three lis. She holds the Christ child in her lap who is looking up to Mary. In between the two figures is a lis at the base and a five pointed star above. This is held within a beaded border which in turn has the inscription running around the outside which reads S' WILLIDE CVMTONE which translates as the 'seal of William of Cumptone'
The reverse is undecorated except to a transverse ridge that runs from top to bottom at the top end of which is a truncated loop.
