Silver coin. Probably a sixpence of Elizabeth I (1558-1603), but clipped to the value of a threepenny coin. Probably fifth issue of 1578-1582; if so, to be dated to 1578-1579

Obverse description: Bust left, rose behind head. Inner circle present, but with the legend removed.

Reverse description: Shield of Arms of England and France, long cross. Date over shield, of which only the third numeral - 7 - remains; the rest being erased. Legend removed.

Diameter: 19.2mm, Weight: 1.56gms, die axis: 10
