A Roman Terra Sigillata (Samian) sherd from the rim and wall of an open ware vessel, probably dating to c. AD 70-230. The wall is slightly curved and the rim is beaded. The sherd was probably once part of a Dragendorff form 37 bowl, probably of East Gaulish fabric. The bowl has the tip of surviving decoration, moulded in relief, with the very edge of a band of ovolo moulding. The fabric is hard and fine and is pinkish-orange in colour with a glossy red-brown slip. The sherd has an incised monogram graffito. Could be a sherd from the same vessel as LANCUM-2FA3EDA.
The length is 78mm, the width is 44mm and the weight 15.00g.
