A cast lead-alloy weight of Medieval to Post-Medieval date (c. AD 1200 - 1700). The weight is sub-circular in plan and sub-rectangular in cross section. The sides are slightly bevelled resulting in one of the faces being larger. The weight has a cross-hatching pattern on one face, similar to a portcullis; the other face is not visibly decorated. It is a dark brown colour with an even surface patina. The weight has sustained plough damage and there are two notches along the edge.
The weight measures 30.8mm in diameter and 6.5mm thick. It weighs 28.2grams or 1oz.
