STRAP END

A complete copper-alloy strap end formed of a folded rectangular sheet, one transverse edge is folded over. It measures 21mm by 16mm in size. There are two parallel copper-alloy rivets in situ at its attachment edge. Traces of gilding can be seen on the front face. This strap end is most likely to be medieval and circa 14th century in date.
