Roman (2nd century) Trumpet brooch: The fragmentary copper alloy brooch is a portion of the bow, which is broken at either end, neither break is recent. The bow is decorated with a triple-ribbed moulding with the central rib being prominent all of which are bordered by a triple stranded ridges. The reverse of the bow is undecorated but a section is hollow which may be an air bubble. The brooch has a matte light grey-green coloured surface. It measures 24.49mm in length, 9.72mm in width and weighs 2.1g.
The brooch is a Trumpet-headed type, possibly a Group B type which date to the 2nd century (Bayley and Butcher, 2004; 161).
