Medieval (c. 1270 to 1450) strap end: The copper alloy strap end is composed of two plates which are sub-rectangle which tapers slightly. At the narrowest terminal there is a triangular protrusion on both plates. There are two rivets holes will with copper alloy rivets which are not immediately visible on the upper plate but protrude on the lower plate. The outer surface of each plate has traces of a white-metal alloy otherwise it has dark grey-green patina.
In length the strap end is 23.5mm, 10.14mm wide and weighs 1.95g.
In Egan and Pritchard (2002) there are similar strap ends, particularly No. 694 which date to the late 13thto mid 15thcentury.
