A Medieval copper alloy mount with Zoomorphic gilding.

The mount is rectangular with a beast (perhaps a wolf or dog) facing left and four vertical lines across the centre of the body. Some of the gilding around the edges has been removed. There is a small bulge in the centre of the reverse.
