Silver coin. Penny of Edward I (1272-1307), probably class 10cf2, London mint issue of 1300-1307. A high level of detail is oddly combined with an underweight flan, as well as unusual features in punctuation and the pellet count on reverse.

Obverse description: Facing bust with bifoliate crown with spearheads depicted as unbarbed triangles, neckline visible as well as drapery of angled wedges; a figure like a reversed C to right of neck. Initial cross pattee.

Obverse inscription: +EDWA R.ARGL.DNS.hYB, annulet punctuation.

Reverse description: Long cross, three pellets in each angle; appearance of extra pellets or re-striking in third and fourth quarters, with more in legend.

Reverse inscription: CIVI/TAS/ LON/DON
